A Special Experience with Students in the Bird Monitoring Activity
Students from the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences at “Ukshin Hoti” University in Prizren, as part of the course Animal Biology, had the opportunity to participate in a unique practical activity, contributing to bird monitoring. The activity, which involved setting up nets, identifying birds through their calls, and banding the birds, was a testament to the importance of collaboration between science and nature for biodiversity conservation.
The activity took place within the framework of the unique project and exhibition “Birds Are Calling” and was made possible by Liridon Shala and Erald Xeka, who were also participants and leaders of this initiative. During this experience, students not only learned new methods for monitoring and conserving birds, but also had the opportunity to contribute to an important ecological initiative.
The course instructor, Prof. Asoc. Dr. Albana Milaimi, expressed pride in her students who took part in this activity, emphasizing that experiences like these are invaluable for developing practical skills and understanding the importance of nature conservation. “Such experiences remind us of how much we still have to learn from nature and how important it is to protect it,” said Dr. Milaimi.
This activity was an excellent opportunity for students and for all those who value the important role of biodiversity in our ecosystems. We thank everyone who contributed to this initiative and made the preservation of our environment possible.
Thank you, Liridon Shala, Erald Xeka, and the students for your commitment!
