The Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences (FLES) continues to play an active role in the drafting process of the Forest Fire Protection Strategy in Kosovo. As part of this important initiative, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Albana Plakiqi Milaimi and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mirvjena Këllezi participated in the workshop held on March 20-21, 2025, in Prevallë, where the Action Plan for this strategy was discussed and developed.

During the meeting of the National Network for Wildfire Management, participants reviewed the National Strategy for Adaptive Landscape and Wildfire Management, focusing on key objectives and the development of the action plan. The activities included group work to define concrete steps to enhance forest fire protection.

This engagement by FLES demonstrates the faculty’s commitment to the preservation of forest ecosystems and its active involvement in shaping environmental policies at the national level.
