
Successful Organization of the Photographic Exhibition and Scientific Lecture on Albanian Biodiversity at FLES
At the premises of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences (FLES), University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, a successful academic event was held, combining a scientific lecture with the photographic exhibition “100 Endangered Albanian Plants and Habitats.”
The event gathered a considerable number of participants, including students from FLES and other faculties of the University, as well as academic staff, demonstrating a strong interest in topics related to biodiversity and environmental protection.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of FLES, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Albana Milaimi, who emphasized the importance of awareness and academic education in biodiversity conservation and in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.
Following this, Prof. Dr. Lulezim Shuka delivered the main lecture, presenting a comprehensive overview of Albania’s plant diversity, its ecological significance, and the endangered status of many plant species of conservation interest.
After the lecture, the exhibition was jointly presented by Prof. Dr. Lulezim Shuka and Dr. Abdulla Diku, who guided participants through the displayed photographs, explaining the characteristics of the plants and habitats, with particular emphasis on their ecological value and the need for their protection.
The exhibition featured a rich collection of photographs illustrating the biodiversity of Albanian flora across the four seasons, while also highlighting the threats faced by many natural ecosystems.
This event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, strengthening academic cooperation, and raising awareness about biodiversity conservation in the region.
