Marking Earth Day at FLES with Awareness-Raising and Practical Activities
On the occasion of Earth Day, the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences (FLES) at the “Ukshin Hoti” University in Prizren, in cooperation with CNVP, organized a series of educational and practical activities focused on environmental protection and the promotion of biodiversity.
The activities involved students from FLES study programs, as well as academic staff, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faruk Bojaxhi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ylli Kortoçi, who actively contributed to their implementation and guidance.
The event was structured around two main components:
- Tree planting activities, serving as a concrete contribution to environmental improvement and the enhancement of green spaces;
- A thematic lecture for students, addressing key issues such as environmental protection, climate change, and the role of biodiversity in natural ecosystems.
Through this initiative, students had the opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical field experience, strengthening their understanding of their future role and responsibility as environmental professionals.
FLES remains committed to promoting activities that raise environmental awareness and encourage active student engagement in nature conservation, in line with its mission of providing quality education and supporting sustainable development.
