In the framework of the Project “MENTORING FOR CLIMATE CHANGE” FOR THE STUDENTS OF “UKSHIN HOTI” UNIVERSITY IN PRIZREN”, today, on 20.09.2023, the next activity was carried out: study visit to the wastewater treatment plant in Vlashnje – Prizren. There we were welcomed by the Director of this department, Mr. Lulzim Paçarizi, as well as the support staff of this company. Mr. Paçarizi and the other colleagues made an excellent presentation regarding the activities that take place in this wastewater treatment plant, the way this plant is managed, the amount of water that is treated and many other issues related to waste water management. Also, present were the students, who are already an active part of this project as well as other UUHP students, Professors from the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences: Faruk Bojaxhi, Project Manager, Professors: Albana Milaimi, Mirvjena Kortoçi , Nol Krasniqi and Ylli Kortoçi, as well as representatives of UNDP, Mrs. Bernardina Krasniqi.

The professors of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences held the lectures entitled:

• Recycling of waste water – physical, chemical and biological treatment of waste water and the impact of these water pollutants on climate change (Prof. Assoc. Dr. Albana Milaimi)
• The use of waste water for the production of clean energy (Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mirvjena Kortoçi)
• The role of waste from water treatment in the development of the agricultural sector (Prof. Ass. Dr. Nol Krasniqi.
